Commercial platform and wheelchair lifts
We install commercial vertical platform lifts — the accessible-route answer when a wheelchair user needs to get between levels and an elevator isn't required or won't fit. The lifts we install are the Harmar Highlander 2 and Cibes Symmetry. Our own crew installs them, working from your drawings, and coordinates the runway, the lower landing, and the electrical to your schedule.

Our own crew, with over 700 installs and more than 70 years in the trade. We don't sub the install out.
The equipment: Harmar Highlander 2 and Cibes Symmetry
A commercial platform lift serves an accessible route between levels in a light-commercial building — open on shorter rises, or fully enclosed for taller travel and weather exposure. Both lines are built and inspected to ASME A18.1 and specified to ADA and ICC A117.1 for platform size, clear opening, controls, and reach.
Key specifications:
- Rated load and capacity: 750 lb (Harmar Highlander II); 750 lb (Cibes Symmetry)
- Maximum vertical travel / rise: Harmar Highlander II 53 in (VPL400) to 171 in (VPL1400); Cibes Symmetry up to 168 in for enclosed and shaftway models (up to 240 in on the chain-hydraulic drive with variance), with unenclosed commercial lifts limited to 60 in
- Platform size and clear opening: Harmar Highlander II platforms 36 x 48 in, 36 x 54 in, 36 x 60 in, 42 x 54 in or 42 x 60 in with 36 in or 42 in gates; Cibes Symmetry platforms 36 x 54 in standard (36 x 48 in, 36 x 60 in and 42 x 60 in available), 32 in minimum clear gate opening (36 in narrow / 42 in wide for 90-degree entry)
- Enclosure / hoistway (where enclosed): Harmar Highlander II Enclosure Kit with acrylic or steel panels, a 6 ft 8 in lower door and upper landing gate, and an acrylic roof with ventilation, for lifts up to 14 ft. Cibes Symmetry VPL-EL/ELP enclosure with metal, acrylic or laminated safety-glass panels, finished footprint 55 1/2 x 53 1/4 in (36 x 48 platform) to 61 1/2 x 65 1/4 in (42 x 60 platform); VPL-SL shaftway (hoistway by others) finished 53 1/4 x 52 1/2 in to 59 1/4 x 64 1/2 in
- Runway, pit or ramp, and lower-landing requirements: Harmar Highlander II — pitless with a 36 in or 42 in fixed or auto-fold ramp, or set in a pit; 79 in overhead clearance above the platform floor at the upper landing; level concrete pad at least 4 in thick, 3,500 psi. Cibes Symmetry — 3 in pit (1 1/2 in minimum) or 0 in with an access ramp; 80 in minimum headroom (the design guide's planning tables give 79 in clear inside height); level concrete at least 4 in thick, 3,200 psi
- Drive system and power / electrical service: Harmar Highlander II — ACME screw with a 90 V 2/3 HP sealed DC gear motor; 120 V AC, 15 A circuit with a 30 A fusible, lockable disconnect; battery backup optional. Cibes Symmetry — ACME screw (10 fpm, 1 1/2 HP), accelerated ACME screw (20 fpm) or chain hydraulic (17–20 fpm, 3 HP); 115 VAC, 30 A feed with a 30 A fusible disconnect; full-speed battery backup standard on commercial applications
- Indoor / outdoor rating: both rated for indoor or outdoor use. Harmar Highlander II — Seal-Kor powder coat with stainless-steel hardware for outdoor installations; Cibes Symmetry — optional roof and thermostat-controlled ventilation, with an extreme-weather package available
The full submittal-ready table is on the specifications page. The Cibes Symmetry commercial models are the VPL-UL (unenclosed), VPL-EL / VPL-ELP (enclosed) and VPL-SL (shaftway).

What a commercial platform or wheelchair lift runs
Commercial pricing is quoted per project — the rise, the capacity, and whether the lift is open or fully enclosed all move it. Send us the drawings and you get the full installed price for your building in a written quote.

Typical timing, for planning
Equipment lead time runs about 3 to 26 weeks from order, depending on the model and configuration. Installation runs about 1 to 5 days on site. Your job's dates are set in the contract, coordinated to your schedule.
Code and compliance
Specified and inspected to ASME A18.1 (Safety Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway Chairlifts) and to ADA and ICC A117.1 for the accessible route. We prepare the submittal to the edition your jurisdiction enforces and coordinate the inspection.
Who does the work
Our own installers — the date we commit to is one we control. Licensed and insured in Louisiana and Alabama; license numbers available on request. In Louisiana, owner Carl Ravey holds the commercial license; in Alabama, Steve Bate, our Alabama Sales and Operations Lead, holds it. The warranty is one year of repair labor, plus the manufacturer's parts warranty, which varies by manufacturer.
Send us the drawings — we'll spec it and quote it in writing.
