Stairlifts for straight and curved staircases

A stairlift keeps the second floor part of your house by carrying you up and down the stairs seated. You keep the home you have and the stairs you have — the stairlift does the climbing. We install straight and curved stairlifts across Louisiana and Alabama.

How a stairlift works

A stairlift is a seat on a rail. The rail mounts to the stair treads — not your wall — so it fits the staircase you already have. The seat carries you up or down and folds out of the way at the top and bottom, leaving the stairs usable. The stairlift's battery keeps it working during a power outage. It recharges when it's parked.

For a staircase that runs straight with no turn or landing. We install the Harmar SL300 and, for a higher weight capacity, the SL600. Straight rails are typically in stock, or up to about two weeks, and install in about a day or two.

For a staircase that turns, curves or has a landing, the rail is built to the exact shape of your stairs. We install the Harmar Helix. Because the rail is made to measure, the lead time is typically about six to eight weeks, and the install runs about one to two days.

What a stairlift costs

Stairlifts run from about $4,500 to $18,000 installed. A straight-rail stairlift sits at the lower, quicker end; a curved rail is built to your staircase and sits at the upper end. Typical timing: a straight rail is in stock, or up to about two weeks; a curved rail is about six to eight weeks; either installs in about one to two days. Your job's exact price and timeline are in your written quote.

What you can count on

Our own installers on every job. The price and the timing in a written quote. A warranty that says what it covers, in writing. Nobody pushing you. And the name of the person in charge of your job.

Will it fit my staircase?
Most staircases take one. A straight staircase takes a straight rail; a staircase that turns or has a landing takes a curved rail built to its shape. We measure your stairs and tell you which, in the quote.
Does it block the stairs for everyone else?
No. The seat and footrest fold up when it's parked, so the stairs stay usable for everyone.
What if the power goes out?
It runs on a battery and keeps working during an outage.
