Through-floor home elevators

A through-floor elevator carries you between two floors by rising through an opening in the ceiling — no separate shaft, no pit, no machine room. It's the stylish, space-saving way to add an elevator to a home you already live in. We install the Cibes Symmetry Ascenda across Louisiana and Alabama.

Why people choose a through-floor elevator

  • It fits a finished home. No shaft to frame and no pit to dig — a real advantage when the house is already built.
  • A small footprint. It parks on one floor and doesn't take up much room, so it fits where a traditional elevator won't.
  • A premium, modern look. Clean lines and finishes meant to sit in a living space.
  • Less disruption. The work is contained, and the install runs about five days.

The Ascenda is built to retrofit into an existing home: a self-supporting structure that carries you between two floors through an opening cut in the ceiling. Equipment lead time varies with the job, and a typical install runs about five days.

Vacuum or through-floor?

Both add an elevator to a finished home with minimal construction, and both are premium, modern elevators made to sit in a living space. A vacuum elevator is a round, panoramic cab that can serve multiple floors; a through-floor elevator carries you between two floors and parks out of the way on one floor when it's not in use. Tell us your floors and your space and we'll say which fits.

How much construction does it need?

Little. It rises through an opening between two floors and needs no separate shaft, pit or machine room, so it goes into a finished home with far less building than a traditional elevator.

How many floors does it serve?

Two. If you need more than two, a vacuum or traditional elevator is the better fit, and we'll tell you so.
