Platform lifts that carry a wheelchair between levels
When steps are in the way, a platform lift carries a wheelchair or a scooter straight up — between two floors, or up to a raised porch or deck. It's the fit when a ramp would be too long and a full elevator is more than you need. We install residential platform lifts across Louisiana and Alabama.

Our own crew, with over 700 installs and more than 70 years in the trade.
What a platform lift is for
A platform lift — a vertical platform lift, or VPL — is an open or enclosed platform that rides straight up and down. You roll a wheelchair or scooter on, and it carries you and the chair to the next level: a raised front entry, a garage into the house, or two floors, indoors or out.
If the rise at your entry is short, a wheelchair ramp may do the job for less. If you need a full upper floor with a finished cab, look at home elevators. Tell us the rise and where it is, and we'll tell you which fits.
The models

Harmar Highlander 2
A vertical platform lift for shorter rises — a porch, a deck, or a raised entry. It sits beside the steps, carries a wheelchair or scooter with its rider, and is weather-rated for outdoor use. The quicker of the two to install.

What a platform lift costs
Residential platform lifts run from about $10,000 to $80,000 installed — with a porch-height lift at the lower end and a multi-floor enclosed lift at the upper end. Typical equipment lead time is about 3 to 26 weeks depending on the lift (a porch lift is quick; an enclosed multi-floor lift is the long end), and a typical install runs about 1 to 2 days. Common questions
- Ramp or platform lift?
- A ramp works when there's room for the run and the rise is modest; a platform lift fits when the rise is too tall for a practical ramp or there isn't room to run one. We look at your entry and tell you which is realistic.
- Indoor or outdoor?
- Both. The Highlander 2 is weather-rated for outdoor rises; the enclosed Cibes Symmetry lift is for going between floors indoors.
