Home elevators for Louisiana and Alabama homes
A home elevator can carry people — and most models can carry a wheelchair — so every floor stays a part of your home. We install home elevators across Louisiana and Alabama — vacuum, traditional and through-floor — with the price, the timing and the warranty in writing before you commit.

Our own crew, with over 700 installs and more than 70 years in the trade.
Three types of home elevators
All three carry you between floors. The difference is how they are installed, and the fit depends on your home.

Vacuum home elevators
a self-supporting cab that needs no separate shaft, pit or machine room. The premium choice for a clean, modern look and the least construction. Made by PVE.

Traditional home elevators
a cab in a built shaft, the way most people picture an elevator, with custom cab finishes. The fit for new construction and full renovations. Made by Cibes Symmetry and Fox Valley.

Through-floor home elevators
a cab that rises through an opening between two floors, with no separate shaft. The space-saving, stylish choice for a home you already live in. The Cibes Symmetry Ascenda.

What a home elevator costs
Home elevators run from about $34,000 to $130,000 installed. Where yours lands in that range depends on which of the three you choose, the model, the number of floors and the finishes. Typical equipment lead time is about 8 to 12 weeks (the through-floor Ascenda varies with the job), and a typical install runs about 3 to 5 days. Your job's exact price and timeline are in your written quote.

Dumbwaiters
A dumbwaiter carries laundry, groceries, firewood and the like between floors, so you're not carrying loads on the stairs. We install two:
- The Hide-A-Waiter, by Staying Home, is a compact dumbwaiter that fits a small opening between floors — sized for laundry baskets and grocery bags. It carries goods, not people.
- The Cable Waiter, by Fox Valley, is a cable-drive dumbwaiter built for heavier loads and larger cars. Also for goods, not people.
Both install in about two days, with a typical equipment lead time of about eight weeks. Installed, dumbwaiters run about $11,000 to $24,000, depending on the model and the opening.

Common questions
- Will an elevator fit my home?
- Most homes can take one of these three. A vacuum elevator needs the least construction and no separate shaft; a traditional elevator needs a shaft, which is easiest to plan in a new build or a renovation; a through-floor elevator retrofits into a home you already live in. We look at your home and tell you what fits, in the quote.
- How many floors can it serve?
- Vacuum and traditional elevators can serve several floors; a through-floor elevator carries you between two. How many floors each model serves is on its page and on the manufacturer's spec sheet.
