Outdoor platform lifts at the VA hospital's transitional training facility in New Orleans, where the houses sit on raised foundations. Each lift stands beside the front steps and carries a wheelchair and its rider from the walk up to the porch.

The lifts are outdoors on concrete pads, in the weather, with a gate at the porch landing.
